Snow

It snowed all freaking day. Nothing but snow. I didn't even leave the condo. Laziness feels good.

Longhorn

The lunch group tried out a new place today, Longhorn Steakhouse. The service was very good, almost too good. The waiters and waitresses ran around constantly and it seemed like if they didn't ask how the food was every two minutes, they would be fired. I made a mistake for my lunch choice. Instead of getting steak, as they specialize in that, I got steak on a salad. Well, I can say that the steak was very good - tender and juicy. As for the salad, blah. I much prefer a light and tasty Wendy's salad. Overall it was pretty good, but next time I'll make sure to get some meat and skip the greens.

Linux

Today I installed Red Hat Linux on my work laptop. Apparently, it is the trendy thing to do. I found out tonight that three of my friends have done it in the last couple days. I'm all for linux, I just wish it didn't take so long to install. For whatever reason, our network was going at a snail's pace today and it took 7.5 hours to download all the correct files for it. I left before it was even close to being done. Tomorrow I should come into my office and it should be all finished and then there will lots of linux fun!

Another Day Off

Well, Kimmers is leaving tomorrow so I decided to take another day off. We went to the University Mall and I finally bought some new dress pants. My old khakis that I wore to work had stains and were ragged on the bottom...whoops. We went home after and made pizza and brownies. Tip: Scallions and green olives are a good pizza topping combination. We also went to Michael's and bought some ornaments to paint. Kim did some cool ones where the ornaments were clear and she swirled the paint on the inside of them. They turned out beautiful. I tried painting some Christmas stuff on my ornaments and they did not turn out as hot. In fact, my attempt at an angel was quite horrible. If you come over, that's the ornament at the bottom of the tree where no one can see it.

All the painting got us hungry again so we got some late night Indian take out. Lick-smacking good.

Back to Work

My vacation ended today. Nose to the grindstone again. Things got better when I got home and Kimmers had made Chili for us. Mmmm, good. We didn't have much to do, so we ended up going to Starbucks, having some coffee, and then saw Gothika. It was Ok, but not great. Scary movies don't do much for me, although I didn't guess the ending correctly so I can't rip on the movie too much. Halley Berry did a good job in the lead role and in the biggest irony ever, Robert Downey Jr. happened to be the only one in the movie NOT using drugs! Haha.

Christmas Tree Hunting

Christmas traditions began today. First we went out to cut down a Christmas tree. My parents hate real trees because they drop needles. I say it's worth the extra vacuuming. The only thing that sucks is I only own five ornaments and a couple of strings of lights that are repaired with electrical tape. Good thing Kimmers is good at tree decorating, she made it look quite professional.

After decorating we made our yearly Gingerbread house. This one was bigger than last year and had more candy to eat...I mean to put on the house. We are a very good construction team - Kimmers was the frosting expert and I made excellent windows and doors. The sleigh still needs some work though. It can be a goal for next year.
